Glenmar Hot Melt Technology has been manufacturing and selling hot melt parts and equipment for 20 years. Originally focused on hardware manufacturing, the company began in 1973 under the name OK Tools by Erich Kiesel. After over two decades of engineering hardware, Erich's son, Glenn, joined the company. As he gained experience, Glenn developed an interest in the hot melt industry. He studied the various applications, from hygiene products to diapers to food packaging. Ever curious, Glenn purchased a variety of glue gun modules and started learning how they were made. He studied the designs of the leading hot melt manufacturers. He tested and modified designs to discover what worked most efficiently. Over time, he began engineering his own hot melt equipment, based on the most popular parts made by the top hot melt manufacturers. Later, he developed several custom designs to add to his catalog of hot melt products. We manufacture a wide range of high quality Hot Melt Replacement Parts. With a line of hot melt products, Glenmar Technology was formed in 1998. Glenmar started attending trade shows, visiting customer factories and building relationships within the industry. Over the years, Glenmar has established a customer base that reaches across the globe. Glenmar makes all of their products in their New Jersey, USA headquarters and ships worldwide. Recently several hot melt glue gun manufacturers have released a new series of hot melt glue gun modules referred to as a "universal" module. This new design is being promoted as a better solution for hot melt applications both practically and economically. Traditionally, manufacturers using hot melt technology have worked with multiple modules in order to make use of different nozzles. This an be tedious, requiring extra time cleaning up and switching from one type of module to another. With the new universal module, a variety of nozzles can be attached, eliminating the need to swap out modules. The design allows for easy transition and cleaning. The modules are also rebuild-able, meaning they can last longer and save on replacement equipment costs. The universal modules are created with a three-way design that maintains accurate metering performance during hot melt application. They modules are compatible with numerous spraying and coating technologies, including meltblown, bead and dot applicators. They further enhance pattern capabilities by accepting different nozzles, like meltblown and Replacement for NordsonĀ® CF, Summit, SureWrap, Control Coat nozzles. These universal hot melt modules are pneumatically actuated to maximize metering performance during operations. This means that the applicators use an "air-in, air-out" design to manipulate the valve. Rather than having a spring control the airflow and release of glue, an additional air hole in the module uses air flowing in and out to trigger the release. This procedure produces more accurate control with the glue, perfect for applications requiring precision. Whereas spring-controlled valves are great for broad applications of glue, there are many jobs that demand accurate glue placement and speedy reaction time. Consistent metering throughout the dispensing cycle permits greater adhesive add-on precision and reliable operation in demanding glue applications. Diverter plate assemblies can be used to economically convert manifold-mounted solenoids to flange-mounted for high-speed performances. Most universal modules include a seal cartridge that significantly reduces the amount of effort required for in-house rebuilding. This reduces maintenance costs and down-time on machines. Having the ability to rebuild modules that have worn out filters or seals-rather than replacing the whole module-means that manufacturers can get extended life on their equipment. The easy clamp assembly allows for quick nozzle replacement, which also saves time with fast changeovers and minimal cleaning. Being able to re-build, re-use and clean up quickly can save significantly in overhead expenditures and production time. The cost savings of the universal module compared to purchasing multiple modules for multiple nozzles, as well as the efficient design for easy cleanup and in-house rebuilding, makes this a significant addition to the hot melt industry.
